Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Stock Solutions trade journal (the website and the Discord bot) collects, how it’s used, who can see it, and the choices you have. Stock Solutions is run by Learn to Prosper LLC (“we”, “us”). We don’t sell your information, and we don’t show ads.

1. What we collect

When you create an account or sign in

With Discord: your Discord user ID, username or display name, and avatar. We only ask Discord for this basic profile (the “identify” permission); we don’t get your email address, password, messages or server list.
With email: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash (scrypt), never in readable form.

What you add

Trades and their fills: symbols, side, size, prices, times, commissions, stops and targets, and which trading account they belong to (including prop-firm rules you set).
Reviews, tags, mistakes, journal entries, moods and grades, chart screenshots you upload, goals, monthly check-ins and self-ratings, chart drawings, and practice trades from Chart replay.
Broker files you import (we read the trades from them; the uploaded file itself is deleted shortly after).
Change requests and support tickets, including your messages and the admins’ answers.
Community posts, comments, likes and reports, and your review and star rating of the service.
If you turn on phone notifications: the private delivery address your browser gives us for this, and which notifications you want.

When you use the Discord bot

Your Discord user ID and the commands you use, and which server and channel trade alerts were posted in, so they can be updated later.

Automatically

A sign-in cookie (see “Cookies” below).
Your IP address, held briefly in memory to stop repeated wrong-password attempts. It isn’t stored in the database.
Settings your browser keeps on your own device, such as chart drawing styles and display choices.

2. How we use it

To run the service: show your trades, stats, charts, calendars, goals and check-ins, and save your notes and drawings.
To send messages you can turn off or that you asked for: end-of-day recaps, monthly check-in reminders, and answers to your change requests and support tickets (Discord direct messages).
To keep the service secure, fix problems, answer support tickets, and keep backups.

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.

3. Who can see it

You.
Bot admins (the people who run Stock Solutions) can see your trades, reviews and journal entries, and read your support tickets, to run the service, fix trades you ask about, and answer tickets.
Other members see what you post on the Community page, with your name and avatar. Shared trades show the result in R and points, and dollars only if you choose. The public front page shows reviews you agreed to share, with your first name only.
Members of a Discord server see the trade alerts you post there with the bot (unless you use the private option). The server’s weekly recap shows totals and the best trades without anyone’s name. Trades you add only on the website never appear in Discord.
Services we rely on: Discord (sign-in and messages). Market prices are downloaded from Yahoo Finance; no personal information is sent to them. Backup copies may be kept in the operator’s Apple iCloud Drive. The service runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, which stores the data for us and keeps daily copies of the server.
When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others.

4. Where it’s kept and how it’s protected

Your information is stored in a database on the server that runs Stock Solutions, hosted by Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany (European Union), where EU data-protection law applies. If you’re outside the EU, your information is transferred there. Passwords are hashed, every form is protected against cross-site requests, sign-ins are rate-limited, and each page checks that the data belongs to you. When the website is served over HTTPS, data is encrypted in transit. Backups are made daily and before admin changes; the daily backup is also sent privately to the server owner on Discord, and copies may be kept on the owner’s computer and iCloud Drive. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

5. How long we keep it

Your account and content: for as long as you have an account, or until you ask us to delete them.
A deleted trade can be restored for 24 hours, then it’s gone from the live journal. Copies remain in backups until those backups are replaced (we keep about the last 50 on the main computer and 30 off-machine).
Support tickets: until you delete your account.

6. Your choices and rights

See and download your data: everything is on the website, and Settings → Your data → Download my data gives you a zip with a spreadsheet of your trades, a complete copy of all your data, and your screenshots. The bot’s /export command also gives you a spreadsheet.
Correct it: edit your trades and notes, or send a change request.
Delete it: Settings → Your data → Delete my account deletes your account and all of your content right away (you can also ask through the Support page). Backups age out as described above.
Messages: turn off recap DMs with /recap_settings in Discord, check-in reminders in Settings on the website, and each kind of phone notification in Settings → The app.

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as to access, correct, delete or move your data, or to object to some uses. To use them, contact us as described below. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

7. Children

The service is not for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

8. Cookies

We use one cookie, ss_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and protects your forms. We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Some display preferences (like chart drawing styles) are saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We’ll change the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll let you know on the website or in Discord.
